H 1 is Hydrogen

The lightest and most abundant of all elements, hydrogen is 75% of all visible matter in the universe.  Yet it is mysterious and elusive.  Placed at the top of the periodic table, it does not fit easily into any of the 18 descriptive groups outlined in the table.  Chemically speaking, it is in a category of its own.
